The NBA season has come to and end and saw the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the finals. Now it’s awards season and the biggest winner was Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has been named the 2016-17 NBA MVP. After putting up 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists per game, Westbrook became the second player since Oscar Robertson in 1961-62 to average a triple-double in a season. Russ also managed to lead the Thunder to a sixth-place finish in the Western Conference with a 47-35 record.

Other winners at the awards included Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon who received the Rookie of the Year award. Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon took the Sixth Man of the Year. Gordon’s teammate Patrick Beverley was the recipient of this year’s NBA Hustle Award. Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker took home the Sportsmanship Award.
